All children stay in school and thrive.
Mission
Protecting the right to learn for every child through collaboration, advocacy, and the law.
Core Values
- Innovative
Creativity—in problem solving and organization management. At ERC, we don't settle for "because that's how it's always been done." We empower ourselves and others to innovate—tackling old challenges with new approaches that boost efficiency and maximize impact. Innovation isn't about change for its own sake; it's about continually adapting to better serve children and their families. - Tenacious
We're passionate about protecting every child's right to learn—whether we're working to change policies or to help an individual child. Our mission drives us. And when time is short and stakes are high, ERC moves with urgency and grit. - Accountable
ERC was founded to fill a void; when systems lack oversight, we demand integrity. We hold those in power—and ourselves—to the highest ethical standards. We collaborate strategically and, when necessary, pursue legal action to secure every child's path to a thriving future. - Fair
Justice matters. At ERC, we combine mission-driven strategy with compassionate advocacy—standing up for children at risk of exclusion, intervening for those without resources, and delivering dignified counsel to families in need. All children deserve the opportunity to learn.
Hundreds of children in Nebraska go without the educational services and supports to which they have a right.
ERC is focused on a challenge that no other nonprofit in Nebraska addresses: serving under-resourced public school students in accessing their educational rights. We help in three ways:
- Education Access: Securing every child's right to fully participate in school by providing free legal representation.
- Training: Equipping families and professionals to advocate for students.
- Research: Driving change through research, policy, and innovation.
We are dedicated to protecting every child's right to learn, so all children can stay in school and thrive.
